Fundraise

Fundraising for us is a really easy and rewarding way to get your family, friends, schools, workplace and communities to be a part of bringing medical discoveries to life. With your help and generosity, our researchers get closer every day to developing cancer and ageing treatments, for the benefit of you and your loved ones.

Where to start

The sky is the limit when it comes to fundraising! Holding a fundraising activity or event is your chance to show your passion and dedication to the CARP cause.

To make things simple our partner the PA Research Foundation has created a Community Fundraising Kit that includes ideas and tips on how to make your activity a success as well as how to register your CARP fundraising activity with the Foundation.

Fundraising Ideas

Here are some simple ideas to get you thinking about your fundraising activity.

  • Host a morning tea
  • Have a dress up/down day at work
  • Run a trivia or quiz night
  • Cook up a Sausage Sizzle or some Cupcakes
  • Organise a raffle
  • Hold a car wash
  • Have a garage sale
  • Get involved with a Fun Run
  • Or you can even attempt a world record!

The ideas and opportunities for fundraising are endless! You can find more ideas in our Community Fundraising Kit.

Online Fundraising

Another very easy but effective way for fundraising is to set up an Online Fundraising Page. You get to build your own personal page which your supporters can donate to and leave messages of support. It's as simple as sending out the link to your network.

Once you have finished your CARP fundraising activity make sure you complete the Fundraising Results Summary and send it in with a cheque or money order.

You can also make a direct deposit to:

PA Research Foundation Operating Account
Commonwealth Bank

Please quote your Community Fundraising Number* or your name as your reference so we can provide you with a receipt and recognise your contribution.

Request a Speaker

Want to know more about our innovative cancer and ageing research and how it will impact on you, your
colleagues and your loved ones? Corporate and community groups can request a CARP representative to visit
their organisation or group as a guest speaker. Hear about our ground breaking work, the positive results from
our latest experiments and meet members of our internationally regarded research team. Our audiovisual
presentation can be delivered on site at the TRI auditorium or at your office/group meeting place.

To arrange a guest speaker,
please email derek.richard@qut.edu.au or call 07 3443 7235

Give Regularly

If just 5% of the Queensland workforce donated $2.50 a week,
we would be able to fund a first class clinical trial each month.

How it works

You can provide vital support for our CARP researchers by making a regular, tax deductible donation through Workplace Giving. A Workplace Giving donation of just $10 a fortnight costs you only $6.40 yet the Cancer and Ageing Research Program receives the full $10!

Workplace Giving is one of the most effective ways to donate to us. You can nominate the amount you wish to donate pre-tax and receive and an immediate tax benefit without having to wait till the end of the financial year.

Matched Giving

Employers can also set up a Matched Giving Program where they match their staff's donation. Benefits of a Workplace Giving and Matched Giving Program include:

  • Being a pre-tax donation
  • Easy to set up
  • Encourages staff participation
  • Builds a rewarding relationship with the Foundation
  • Raises awareness about medical research
  • Puts corporate responsibility values into action

If you would like more information on Workplace Giving or
Matched Giving please call the PA Research Foundation on
(07) 3176 2359 or email general@pafoundation.org.au

Corporate Partnerships

The Cancer and Ageing Research Program always welcomes the opportunity to develop new corporate partnerships. We
work closely with all our corporate supporters to develop tailored business partnerships that meet the needs of both our
organisations. Our partnerships offer corporate organisations the opportunity to work with us to bring our novel cancer
and ageing medical discoveries to life. As a corporate partner you will bring invaluable funds to progress our ground
breaking research through unique business models which engage both customers and employees and raise awareness of
the vital work being carried out by the CARP team.

Options for corporate support can include:

  • Sponsoring a PhD student
  • Specific equipment purchase
  • Named research fellowships
  • Host a beneficiary fundraiser
  • Work place giving
  • Staff team building exercise through fundraising
  • Sponsorship of CARP events
